Period close is a checklist for a completed month, a quarter, or a fiscal year. Jupiter ERP calculates the list live. Nothing is saved and nothing is locked.

Period lock stays a separate step afterwards.

Period

  1. Open Accounting → Period close.
  2. Use the Month (January to December), Quarter (for example January to March), and Year lists at the top.
  3. Month and quarter apply to the selected year. If neither is selected, the year applies. The list starts with the last completed month. For a year, the fiscal year from the accounting settings is used, otherwise the calendar year.

What is checked

The groups use the same names as the menu: Service, Documents, Accounting. A row appears only when the module is in the plan and your role has the read permission.

  • Service: unbilled time records (status open). Service contracts due (active, next due date in the period).
  • Documents: one row each for quotes, order confirmations, delivery notes, invoices, dunning notices, and credit notes. The count is an open status or an open amount. A document type is left out when the module or the read permission is missing.
  • Accounting: open receipts (open status or open amount). Open transactions (open or partly assigned). Private transactions, transfers, and zero-amount transactions marked without a document are excluded.

Show opens the matching list with the filter for that check.

What period close is not

Not a saved “reviewed” mark, not closing entries, not a VAT return, and not statutory financial statements.
